Andrew Wilson      


Andrew Wilson was born in Dublin and trained with Jill Wigham, Bird College where he graduated in 1983 and The Royal Ballet School where he was chosen to represent the school at the 1984 Prix de Lausanne. He was a member of Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet, promoted to Corphyee in 1989 and to Soloist of The Birmingham Royal Ballet in 1991.

 

Andrew's principal/soloist roles included leads in Elite Syncopations and Danses Concertantes (Macmillan), Giselle and The Nutcracker (Wright), Card Game (Cranko),Theme and Variations (Balanchine), Jazz Calendar and Facade (Ashton), Brahm's Handel Variations and Hobson's Choice (Bintley). He has also danced in other works by De Valois, Massine, Van Manen, De Mille and Joos.

 

In 1995 he gained distinction on the Professional Dancers' Teaching Course at The Royal Academy of Dance and was Head of Boys Ballet at Elmhurst Ballet School.

 

He joined the staff of Bird College in 2000 and is Head of  Classical Ballet on both the diploma and degree courses and is responsible for the teaching of pas de deux to all years. He is the company manager and a resident choreographer for the Bird Theatre Company and has toured New Zealand, Singapore, Portugal, Austria and the UK with the company. He regularly co-choreographs for the third years musical theatre productions and to date, with Erica Lawrence, has choreographed "The Life", "Children of Eden", "Kiss me Kate", "Bad Boy" and "Sweet Charity". He is frequently asked to teach for "Scapino Ballet" in Rotterdam, The Hungarian Dance Academy, Budapest and also for the ISTD and RAD on their international summer schools.

 

He is a registered teacher for both the RAD and ISTD and has recently created the new Advanced 2 Boys ballet syllabus for the ISTD Imperial Ballet Faculty. He is a vocational graded examiner for the ISTD Imperial Ballet Faculty.

Liane McRae

Liane trained at the Royal Ballet Lower and Upper Schools and has worked with London City Ballet, English National Ballet, Scottish Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet. She has also been part of the cast of The Phantom of the Opera.

Lianes gained the RAD’s Professional Dancer’s Teaching Diploma (PDTD) in July 2000 and went on to work at Northern Ballet School and was part of the Scottish Ballet Associate Programme. Liane then joined the faculty at RAD headquarters in London teaching children’s grades, and worked regularly for the RAD conducting Repertoire Workshops and Intensive Courses for Vocational students throughout the UK.

 

Liane went on to complete a two year placement in Dubai, after which she worked as a freelance teacher in London at organisations including The Royal Ballet School, Performers College, Urdang and the Centre of Advanced Training Scheme. Liane also worked at The Dance School of Scotland and is now working as a freelance teacher in London. She has taught on a number of RAD Summer

Schools worldwide and is a member of the Faculty of the RAD Dance School.

 

Corraine Collins


 

Principal of the Corraine Collins Dance Studios and Head of Ballet at Morea Performing Arts, Corraine is one of the most highly respected and experienced dance teachers in the UK.

 

A Fellowship examiner of the Imperial Ballet Faculty and Graduate of The Royal Academy of Dancing, Corraine was appointed an Examiner for the ISTD Imperial Ballet Faculty at the tender age of 25 and shortly afterwards was appointed a Modern and Tap Examiner. In 1997 Corraine was upgraded to a triple major Examiner with responsibility for examining not only in the UK but overseas. She is also now a DDI Examiner for the Modern and Tap Faculties.

 

 

Rebecca Jackson

 

Former graduate from The Royal Ballet School, Rebecca's professional dance credits include:

 

Rebecca is a currently a member of the Classical Ballet Faculty at Bird College, and owns and runs a ballet school for pre-school children, 'Ballet Tots'.
