The aim of The Dance Summer School is to provide a broad spectrum of high standard dance classes taught by teachers recognized in excellence in Classical Ballet, Contemporary (technique, contact and improvisation) and Jazz. 

 

We will be encouraging them to increase their technical proficiency, their artistic skills and their understanding of their bodies. 

 

The students will gain an insight into the life of a professional dancer or teacher, learning how to they can develop dance into a sustainable career.  They will have the opportunity to ask about professional dance schools and colleges in the UK, to ask what our staff look for when they run auditions at these colleges, to ask about job opportunities and to extend their general knowledge about becoming a professional dancer and dance teacher. There will be mock auditions with continual guidance and advise, so that potential auditionees can prepare and gain confidence.

 

Also, The Dance Summer School is a great opportunity for Student-teachers -who are training to get a dance teacher qualification-, to observe and refine their ideas in regards to teaching methodologies, analysis of movement, choreography, etc.
