"I have attended The Dance Summer School twice as a participant and have now progressed to becoming a chaperone. I loved every second of each summer school and can safely say the weeks spent there have been some of the best. Every time I attended TDSS I met so many people from across the globe and made some lifelong friends.

Every year TDSS is an incredible week filled with incredible classes taught by incredible faculty. I learned so much in each class, both in styles I had previously trained in as well as those I had never tried before. From classes in Latin and Jazz to Classical Ballet you get the privilege to work with faculty who are top in their field, who I am now lucky enough to be taught by everyday as I undertake full time training at Morea Performing Arts.

Attending a summer school of such a high standard and intensity confirmed that performing was the career I wanted to pursue. I am so thankful to TDSS as it has been such a massive part of my performing journey and I cannot recommend it highly enough."

"I was originally a pupil at the “Dance School of Scotland” for four years and every year I attended "The Dance Summer School”.  I am now a full time student at “Central School of Ballet” in London.

The summer school was very important to me at that stage of my training.  It gave me the experience of working with a range of excellent teachers and the opportunity to learn different dance styles and techniques.  I also found the advice and information about applying to full time dance schools really helpful, especially when the time came for me to audition myself.

The school’s full programme of classes and activities kept me very busy and I have made many new friends over the years.  I really enjoyed attending the summer school and found that it helped me with my ongoing dance training.  But above all I had great fun."

"After attending The Dance Summer School for 3 consecutive years I continued my training at the Dance School of Scotland. I then worked alongside Scottish Ballet Youth Exchange programme, which was a dance group which performed and trained alongside another group in Singapore for 2 weeks!

The Dance Summer School informed me and educated so much on my further career and prepared me perfectly for my audition life that was to come ahead. The faculty were incredible to work with and I felt so privileged to have been taught by them all."

"I attended the Dance Summer School twice, the last time being during the summer between leaving the Dance School of Scotland and moving down to London to continue my dance training.

Following that summer I spent 3 years at Central School of Ballet graduating in July 2014 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Dance and Professional Performance. Following my graduation I enrolled on the Professional Graduate Programme with Northern Ballet in Leeds.

During my time on the programme I performed with the company in The Great Gatsby and Peter Pan and I was also a cast member in the filming of the childrens ballet; The Elves and the Shoemaker.  In March 2015, I started work with Rosie Kay Dance Company for the 5 Soldiers: The Body is the Frontline production which will be touring from the end of April.

I loved attending The Dance Summer School as the surroundings at Kilgraston are beautiful and the teaching is both excellent and enjoyable. I enjoyed all the classes at the Summer School, but the impact for me was that Katie Morea's classes moved my focus to contemporary dance.  As a result during the remainder of my training contemporary has continued to be the genre that I enjoy the most."

"I attended 2 Dance Summer Schools and it was great to work with such a variety of teachers and learning so many different styles. I made a lot of new friends from all over the world who I still keep in contact with.

Not only was the summer school great for dancing, the night time activities broke away from the hard work during the day and provided a lot of fun for everyone."

Katie Brooks

"I studied dance from the age of 3 to 18.  At 18 I went to London Studio Centre to graduate from third year Jazz Co, class of 2015.

At the age of 14 I was thrilled to be awarded a scholarship for The Dance Summer School in Edinburgh and this was my first taste of what professional training would be like.

During my week in Scotland I met so many different teachers and experienced such a wide variety of dance.  It proved to me how much I would enjoy full time training. Whenever I look back on the week I remember that, on top of the high standard of classes, it was such fun staying away from home with such a lovely group of new friends."

"I had the chance to participate in The Dance Summer School when I was 16 years old. At the period, attending a summer course of this standard meant a lot for me as it gave me a real inspiration to fulfil my dream to become a dancer.

Two years later I joined the Central School of Ballet in London where I also had the chance to dance with the graduate touring company, Ballet Central, and perform the work of various renowned choreographers.

After, completing my vocational training with a first class BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Performance, I am currently dancing at the Ballet Junior de Geneve.

I highly recommend The Dance Summer School to anyone that loves dancing. It gives you plenty of joy and positive experiences."
